Join me in my 16th year teaching palette knife and particular brush techniques using Cobra water mixable oils. (Or your own choice) My class is always called From Realism to Abstraction with focus on how the landscape is always the main focus and can be abstracted.
I will show you how to direct the viewer’s eye with value color studies and strong composition. You will learn various techniques on how to hold the knife and make a great variety of marks. Information on paint manipulation and brushwork will also be included. Each morning there will be demos and in the afternoon I will spend time with each student helping them through the process.

The Abstracted Landscape

October 8, 2024 9:00 am - October 11, 2024 4:00 pm
Instructor(s): Larry Moore
$700 for Members; $775 for Non-Members

Larry Moore

This 4-day class covers the fundamental tenets of design in art. It’s not specifically a non-objective (pure abstract) class, you get to decide the level of abstraction you wish to explore. It is more of a learn-how-to-think class where you learn a process that you can use to explore new ideas. It’s a crash course on finding authenticity in your work. We cover the seven tenets of creative expression and the language of art. Larry’s intent is to help each artist find a way that works that is unique to them, whether they wish to interpret from life, push their process, or go fully abstract.
