REFUND POLICY (Please Read)
50% of your tuition payment is a non-refundable deposit. In the event that a student requests cancellation prior to 45 days of class/workshop commencement, he/she will be offered a course transfer or refund of 50% of the tuition payment. If a student cancels within 45 days prior to the first day of class, no refund will be made. The Bascom reserves the right to cancel any program that does not meet minimum enrollment, and full refunds will be issued.
The Art of Abstract
This three-day workshop is designed for the New and or Experienced Abstract Artist working with acrylic painting materials. Open to those who are familiar with acrylics and a basic understanding of color or want to experiment with new ways.
Beginning Oils: Still Life with Limited Palette
Create paintings using three principles: line, tone and color.
Resident Artist Series: Beginner Potter's Wheel (June)
The June installment of our Resident Artist Series will focus on providing you with all the basics you will need to know to get started working on the potter's wheel. We will make bowls and cylinders. The class meets from 10am - 12pm/noon on June 7th, 9th, 14th, and 16th.
Mystical Landscape Painting
Each student will create a small mystical landscape painting using oil paint on canvas. Students will learn: color mixing, paint application, and the use of various elements and light to add magic to the canvas.
Keys to Colorful and Professional Oil Paintings
Successful oil paintings don’t just happen; they’re the result of the careful study and understanding of a few key concepts. In this workshop we’ll isolate and explore those concepts in a series of small studies, and combine them into larger projects.
Watercolor Change Up
Ever wonder what to do with work you are not happy with? Learn how to paint out and add stamped texture with Gesso to create new and exciting pieces.
Expect the Unexpected – A Clay Workshop with Cold Finishes and Solid Sculpting
This will be an action-packed class for all levels of sculptors! We will be taking some time in the beginning of class to work on finishing – with underglazes and/or engobes, dry clays, acrylic paint and inks.
Abstraction in Acrylics & Gouache
In this 4 day class we will cover the fundamentals of abstract art. It’s not specifically a non-objective (pure abstract) class, you get to decide the level of abstraction you wish to explore. It is more a learn-how-to-think kind of a class where you will receive a process that you can do on your own at home.
Introduction to Woodturning
Turn beautiful and functional items from wood. We will develop the skills necessary to turn beads, coves, and straight cuts. We will combine these basic cuts to create pieces such as rolling pins, mallets, bud vases, goblets, and bowls.
Japanese Pottery Making
In this 3 day, hands on workshop, students will learn how to create various utilitarian pottery forms. The class meets July 8th - 10th from 9am - 4pm with a one-hour break at noon.
