The Bascom: A Center for the Visual Arts aims to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment where individuals with disabilities may participate in the visual arts. - Interior spaces at The Bascom—including galleries, classrooms, retail shop, and Studio Barn—are wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair is available in the Atrium for use.
- There is accessible parking spaces located between the main entrance and the Studio Barn as well as in the lower-level parking area by the rear entrance.
- There is elevator access to all levels of the main building.
- All restrooms include an accessible stall as well as baby-changing facilities. Single-user/family restrooms are available on the Trail Level. Wayfinding signage is provided to guide guests to wheelchair accessible restrooms.
- All water fountains are wheelchair accessible.
- The Horst Winkler Sculpture and nature trail includes areas that are not easily accessible. We do ensure that multiple outdoor works of art are accessible by wheelchair.
- Some exhibitions include supplemental audio content.
- Exhibition wall text is printed in large format sans serif type. Printed materials with large format text are available upon request.
- Restroom and classroom signage do include brail.
- Emergency alarms include audio and visual signals.
- Evacuation plans are located in key locations.
- Quiet space is available on request.
- Seating is provided on all levels of the main building.
