The Bascom is committed to being a key player in the creative economy of Western North Carolina by providing professional development opportunities for artists and educators. Read on to learn more about the opportunities available and the process for accessing them.
Artist Submission Policy
The Bascom annually hosts ten rotating exhibitions in our Bunzl, Thompson, and Joel galleries. These exhibitions are threaded together by an annual theme and expanded upon by guest curators, resident artists, and collaborative community opportunities. The Bascom does not currently offer an opportunity for solo exhibition outside of our residency program.
Calls to Artists
The Bascom Center for the Visual Arts provides a dynamic venue that supports artistic entrepreneurship throughout the Southeast region of the United States.
Learn
Our classes and workshops offer artists of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to get real hands-on instruction in a variety of mediums. Learn from professionals alongside others who share your passion for the visual arts.
Teach
One way in which we contribute to the creative economy is by providing professional artists with a platform to develop their teaching and public speaking skills while reaching a wider audience for their work.
Residencies, Fellowships & Internships
The Bascom's Education Fellowships offer disciplined artists and educators opportunities to take on significant responsibilities that further themselves as art professionals. Benefits include housing, studio access, teaching opportunities, potential for exhibition and more.
Employment Opportunities
The Bascom is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and equal opportunity employer offering competitive salaries and benefits in an enriching working environment. As job openings become available, we will post them here on our website.
