Hand Building Functional Pots with a Focus on Surface Decoration
We will cover coil, pinch and carving. We will explore handles and feet. We will make dishes and candle holders and other functional ceramic pieces that are used on the table and in the home. Special attention will be paid to surface decoration using wax resist, Mishima and inlay techniques. Students need to bring a variety of underglaze colors.
Class meets: 9am – Noon and 1pm – 4pm
An artist talk will take place January 16 | 4pm | Free
