How does it work?
Whenever you register for a class or workshop online, you'll be prompted to create a user account during the registration process. The information you provide there can then be used to log in here.
- Register for a Workshop
- Create your username and password during the registration process
- Check your email (Don't see it in your inbox? Check your junk/spam folder and mark it as not junk/spam)
- Click on the activation link in the email and... Voila! You're good to go!

The Bascom's Education Department is committed to providing life-enriching experiences through comprehensive arts education for children and adults. We offer a variety of educational programs which include workshops, ongoing classes, Art by Appointment, Open Studio Packages, field trips, demonstrations, community classes, and clubs - designed to meet the needs of artists of all skill levels.

Refund Policy (Please Read!)
50% of your tuition payment is a non-refundable deposit. In the event that a student requests cancellation prior to 45 days of class/workshop commencement, he/she will be offered a course transfer or refund of 50% of the tuition payment. If a student cancels within 45 days prior to the first day of class, no refund will be made. The Bascom reserves the right to cancel any program that does not meet minimum enrollment, and full refunds will be issued.

Out of the Round and Into the Fire : A Handbuilding and Soda Firing Exploration
Explore handbuilding techniques and atmospheric soda firing in this intensive five-day workshop. Participants will create original bisque molds, explore slab, coil, and pinch methods, and develop handbuilt forms in stoneware clay. The class also covers kiln loading, firing cone 10-11 soda pieces, and glaze/slip techniques. Bring cone 10 stoneware or porcelain pieces to fire, and gain hands-on experience with The Bascom’s new soda kiln. Open to handbuilders and wheel-throwers alike.

Make a clay stump and decorate it with mushrooms, flowers, butterflies and other natural elements.

Capturing the Season with Watercolor
Discover the joy of watercolor painting in this one-day workshop with artist and illustrator Mia Zoller. Explore techniques for capturing spring's beauty through flora, fauna, and landscapes, gaining the skills to continue your watercolor journey at home or on your travels.

Saturday Sojourn with Paint - The power of pattern and abstraction
Join Cath Connolly Hudson’s Saturday Sojourn workshop to explore the Post impressionistic styles of pattern and interior scenes. We’ll explore the interior paintings of Bonnard and Matisse and create our own modern version.

Resident Artist Series: May Glaze Testing
This class is about glaze and how to get the results you want. We will use test tiles to test glaze combinations, investigate different techniques for applying glaze, fire pieces in oxidation and reduction, and create and mix new glazes. Students need to bring some bisque ware (cone 6 and cone 10) for this class.
