How does it work?
Whenever you register for a class or workshop online, you'll be prompted to create a user account during the registration process. The information you provide there can then be used to log in here.

- Check your email (Don't see it in your inbox? Check your junk/spam folder and mark it as not junk/spam)
- Click on the activation link in the email and... Voila! You're good to go!

The Bascom's Education Department is committed to providing life-enriching experiences through comprehensive arts education for children and adults. Our classes and workshops are designed to meet the needs of artists of all skill levels in a variety of mediums.

REFUND POLICY (Please Read)
50% of your tuition payment is a non-refundable deposit. In the event that a student requests cancellation prior to 45 days of class/workshop commencement, he/she will be offered a course transfer or refund of 50% of the tuition payment. If a student cancels within 45 days prior to the first day of class, no refund will be made. The Bascom reserves the right to cancel any program that does not meet minimum enrollment, and full refunds will be issued.

All Ages Pottery: Fairy Doors
Kids Clay Camp - Little Kids Handbuilding Camp
Clay Camp for our youngest potters! Try out different methods of handbuilding pottery. In this three-day workshop we will explore using clay to create functional and decorative ceramics. Student work will be fired after the class and available for pickup or shipping two to three weeks after the last class.

Resident Artist Series: Wheel Throwing I
In this 5 day wheel throwing class, we will cover the basics of working on the potter’s wheel. If you have never tried this before, please expect some difficulty in the initial stages. The focus will be to learn centering and then to pull shapes such as bowls (ex. berry bowls, soup bowls, colander, cereal bowls, etc) and cylinders (ex. Mugs, tumblers, sippers – based on the learning curve). This class includes Open Studio access only on the day of class. There will not be a glazing component to this class. Magical Mountains Majesty
The Bascom invites young artists to get creative with instructor Caryn Raming as they make art inspired by the beauty of nature and the excitement of the Fourth of July. From sea to shining sea, students will play with color and texture while creating imaginative artworks celebrating America’s landscapes.

Kids Clay Camp - Wheel Throwing Camp
iPhone Artistry : Mastering Photography Through Your Lens with Gwen Greenglass
Your iPhone camera is your window to the world. Learn how to unlock its full potential, including the addition of various photography apps. We will focus on Photography skills such as impact, composition, lighting, storytelling, artistry and more that will take your images to the next level. The course includes both classroom time and taking photographs on-location in Highlands, NC.
Your instructor, Professional Fine Art Nature and Portrait Photographer Gwen Greenglass, will guide you in applying these skills to your favorite style of photography.
Perceptual Color: Seeing, Mixing, and Painting with Sensitivity with Ben Hamburger

This three-day workshop explores color as both a technical and expressive element of painting. Through focused exercises, still life studies, demonstrations, and critique, participants will refine their ability to perceive, mix, and use color with greater intention. Designed for intermediate and advanced painters, the class welcomes returning students as well as new participants working in acrylic or oil.
