Beginning Drawing with Oil Pastels

Come spend three fun days learning to draw with beautiful blended color through oil pastels! Never drawn before? No problem, we will explore what it takes to create a beautiful colorful drawing without the messiness and complexity of oil paint.

This will be a very painterly approach to drawing where detail is implied, a more “impressionistic” approach to drawing. We will explore basic drawing layout, values, texture, and color theory. The first day will consist of studio work learning and experimenting with the medium and drawing a simple still life.

Day two will be drawing landscapes on location around our beautiful campus.

Day three we will draw from one of your favorite landscape photos in the studio!
