Youth Classes & Workshops
Our youth classes and workshops are designed specifically for younger artists below the age of 18 years old to explore, develop, and get real hands-on instruction in a variety of mediums.
Water Water Everywhere!
The Bascom invites young artists to get creative with instructor Caryn Raming through playful, water-based art adventures. Students will pour, mix, and blow their way to exciting discoveries, exploring movement, color, and unexpected effects.
Bring a lunch or snack, and get ready to CREATE!
Ages 7–12
Kids Clay Camp - Handbuilding Camp
Try out different methods of handbuilding pottery. In this three-day workshop we will explore using clay to create functional and decorative ceramics. Student work will be finished in a variety of ways, including underglaze and glaze, and will be fired after the class and available for pickup or shipping two to three weeks after the last class.

STEAM Team! Collaborative Experiments in Creativity
The Bascom invites young artists to join instructor Caryn Raming for hands-on, collaborative STEAM experiments that blend art, science, and creativity. Students will work together to explore imaginative challenges, test ideas, and discover how creative thinking and experimentation go hand in hand.

All Ages Pottery: Toad Houses
Youth Printmaking: Garden Party Monoprints!
Celebrate the colors and textures of summer while exploring monoprinting techniques in a fun, hands-on workshop. Using flowers, leaves, and other garden materials, students will learn the basics of gelli plate printmaking and experiment with printing on one of The Bascom’s presses.
This beginner-friendly class requires no prior experience and results in vibrant prints that can be enjoyed on their own or used as inspiration for future art projects.

Still Life Superstars!
The Bascom invites young artists to work with instructor Caryn Raming as they explore the art of still life. Students will observe everyday objects and experiment with composition, color, and texture to create thoughtful and imaginative artworks in a variety of mediums.
