The Bascom’s annual Clay Symposium provides a dynamic platform for exploring the art of ceramics through exhibitions, live demonstrations, and meaningful dialogue. This year’s event unites Natasha Dikareva, TJ Erdahl, and Kirsten Stingle- three celebrated ceramic artists for a weekend of creativity and engagement.

The symposium begins with a keynote address and an exhibition of the artists’ works, offering attendees an introduction to their unique approaches and techniques. The following day features a full schedule of hands-on demonstrations in The Bascom’s state-of-the-art studio, providing insights into the artists’ processes and innovations.

This immersive experience invites art enthusiasts, collectors, and practitioners to delve into the limitless possibilities of ceramics. Set against the stunning backdrop of Highlands, NC, the symposium fosters connections with master artists and the clay communities of the Southeast. Whether attending one session or the entire weekend, participants will leave inspired and enriched by the artistry and innovation of contemporary ceramics.
