The Abstracted Landscape

The Abstracted Landscape

This 4-day class at The Bascom covers the fundamental tenets of design in art. It’s not specifically a non-objective (pure abstract) class—participants decide the level of abstraction they wish to explore. It is more of a learn-how-to-think class, offering a process that artists can use to explore new ideas. It’s a crash course on finding authenticity in one’s work. The class covers the seven tenets of creative expression and the language of art. Larry’s intent is to help each artist find a way of working that is unique to them, whether they wish to interpret from life, push their process, or go fully abstract.

Larry Moore is versatile in all mediums, having worked extensively in pastel, acrylic, oil, gouache, and mixed media. Participants are encouraged to work in the medium they are most comfortable with. This is not a class for beginners; participants should have some experience with drawing, color, and painting.

Larry is the author of Fishing for Elephants: Insights and Exercises to Inspire Authentic Creativity, Poster and Process, and a follow-up to Fishing for Elephants, currently in progress.
