“I have found the still-life to be the most biographical form of painting. Even a self-portrait is not so revealing of an artist’s personality. The objects, atmosphere, lighting and composition bring forth a sense of the artist’s being. His mood, character and interest all are reflected in the still life.”
Chatov’s workshop environments are casual, encouraging and informative. This workshop will be centered on utilizing objects of personal interest to develop compositions and design. Marc will discuss his use of color, value relationships and understanding the importance of esthetics. Marc will give a demonstration two mornings followed by individual instruction.
