Sotheby's Artist Reception with Brad Allyn Jay

The Bascom, in collaboration with Highlands Sotheby's, will present a meet and greet reception with Brad Allyn Jay Friday, August 7th from 4:30 - 6 pm at Highlands Sotheby's. A selection of the artist's work will be available for purchase. Additionally, more works are available at The Bascom.

About the Artist

B. Allyn Jay tends to notice quiet moments in everyday life. His paintings aim to convey the landscape's colors, lighting, and mood, turning a quick look into lasting attention. Trained in still life, he continues to paint the gesture of flowers reaching for the light and the color held in an arrangement. He paints exclusively in oils on board and is a student of American Impressionism.

Jay has appreciated painting throughout his life but came to the practice only after retiring from a career in finance. He has studied with several teachers, though he considers painting a deeply personal process, one learned largely through doing. Encouraged by friends, he now shares his work with others.
