Keys to Dynamic & Colorful Oil Paintings
Painting is about understanding what we see, and having the necessary skills to interpret that scene on canvas. It’s also about seeking out that unique style, or interpretive ’voice’, that we all have. In this workshop we’ll cover concepts, insights, and skills in many areas (like color mixing, light and shadow theory, and expressive brushwork, value training, and edges, etc.)
We’ll also introduce more interpretive, communicative concepts, like harmony and design. See how to create paintings with a professional and dynamic look. Gain confidence in the painting process and learn ways to handle complex subject matter with great ease and simple gestures. Through a variety of lectures, demonstrations, practice studies, and one-on-one assistance, you will be challenged to apply unique techniques and to think in new ways about oil painting. Expect a focused, yet relaxed, atmosphere with lots of fun and camaraderie.
