DESCRIPTION:Various approaches to painting the abstract will be covered thr
 oughout these 6 onlinesessions\, designed to inspire exploration beyond th
 e representational environment. Beginningwith a series of mark-making exer
 cises using graphite and charcoal\, the artists will furtherexplore line\,
  form\, and pattern to create spatial relationships within a compositional
  structure.Color theory\, design\, visual and physical reaction\, process\
 , and individual taste\, will additionalbe covered in order to establish a
  ‘personal’ voice within the language of abstraction.Approaching abstr
 action from a ‘pure’ internal vantage point\, as well as using a varie
 ty ofreference that exists around us\, will be explored as a way to develo
 p into the abstract territory.These methods of approach and reasoning will
  guide the artists into designing their own processof working abstractly. 
 Various tools and mediums will also be introduced to help push varietyand 
 expansion toward artists intention of the final painting. While all medium
 s are welcome\, oiland acrylic will be used during the lecture and demos.W
 hether you want to paint purely abstract or not\, the foundation and struc
 ture to solidpainting is based on simple elements and principles of abstra
 ction. This class will end withdiscussion on critiquing your own work\, as
  well as finish and presentation. Each sessions willhave a lecture\, vario
 us demos\, and individual critiques that will be submitted before each onl
 ineclass. All sessions will be recorded so they can be watch at a future d
 ate if needed.
