Volunteer

Volunteers are an integral part of The Bascom. The support of a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer team is essential to the continued growth and development of our art center.

There are different volunteer opportunities: office, gallery, benefit events, hospitality, flowers, installation, studio, artist-in-residence, library, visitor services, landscape, parking, recycling and building. We hope one of these jobs will be a perfect fit for you.

We also offer internship opportunities.

Our volunteers are our lifeline. We can’t thank our volunteers enough for all they have done: past, present and into the future. From serving as a Garden Festival guide to helping out at our gallery to stuffing envelopes and answering phones, they make our success – and our very existence – possible.

The Bascom provides you, the volunteer, with:

  • An intellectually stimulating art environment
  • Opportunities to meet interesting people with like interests
  • Volunteer appreciation events
  • A source for continuing exposure to art knowledge
  • Special recognition for length of service
  • A personalized name tag
In exchange, volunteers are expected to:
  • Commit to hours of service in a one-year period
  • Attend training sessions
  • Comply with our policies and procedures
  • Comply with a background check, if applicable
  • Enjoy being a volunteer
